C. B. Gill

Honorary Membership 1974

Mr. Gill is a keen observer of natural history, with professional experience in botany, geology, history, and especially in forestry, having first become a forester in Manitoba in 1920. He wrote and published a ten-volume survey of Manitoba forests, the first survey ever completed in Manitoba. He has written “Observations and a Tentative Key to the Native Willows of Manitoba”. Since 1964, Mr. Gill has been associated with the Parks Branch as a Heritage Consultant, where his detailed knowledge of Manitoba’s natural history has been of great help in park planning and the development of interpretive centres.
