Walking tour of the permaculture gardens of the Sustainable South Osborne Community Co-op (SSOCC) led by the vice-president Rod Kueneman. After the tour we can lunch in the garden followed by a neighbourhood walk and the option of a treat at BDI.

Rock 'n Stroll: Stony Mountain, Stonewall and Argyle

Join Rose for a rockin' hike through the 440 million-year-old quarries of Stony Mountain (collecting permitted) and Stonewall, tour the little village of Argyle which has a remarkable number of historic structures, and test out a small section of the 106 km.-long Interlake Pioneer Trail on the Prime Meridian. Registration commences July 24.

Hike in Assiniboine Park

Enjoy a 2 hour Hike in Assiniboine Park with a historical emphasis (on it’s 110th birthday) by fellow Grey Hare, David Spector. Bring a bag lunch if you wish…maybe an ice cream at Sargent Sundae’s across the footbridge afterwards.

Guided Cultural East Exchange Tour

Take a walk along Lily Street and learn the history of the area through art and sculpture with artist, Sean McLachlan. Sean recently completed a series of public artworks looking at the history and change in the East Exchange as it evolves as one of Winnipeg's oldest neighbourhoods. Tour limited to 20 people. After the tour, lunch together at a restaurant in the area for those interested.
