Nature Manitoba Outings

Nature Manitoba conducts a variety of outdoor activities throughout the year. Our activities include canoeing, hiking, cycling, snowshoeing, camping, cross-country skiing, and other outdoor recreational pursuits. All Outdoor Activities are free for members, with the exception of any cabin/park fees if applicable, and the Grey Hares group is listed separately. Non-members may attend a trip or two at no cost, in order explore the option of membership. Note that a trip's difficulty is rated using the following Trip Rating Guidelines.

Cycle from Larter's Golf Course to Selkirk Park

Cycle from Larter's Golf Course to Selkirk Park for a picnic lunch. We will be stopping to regroup at Lockport, Lower Fort Garry, and Selkirk along the way. Cycle time about 1 1/2 hours each way.  We will not be touring Lower Fort Garry on this trip.

Nutimik Lake Environs Hiking Excursion

Hike about 13-15 km. on various trails around Nutimik Lake, with a visit to the Whiteshell Museum and Bannock Point petroforms. This is a full-day event with a return-to-Winnipeg time later in the evening.

 Join Jerry for a 2 week canoe trip starting at Caribou Falls Power dam, travelling to the southern boundary of Woodland Caribou park (Sydney Lake) and then returning to the power dam launch site. The trip involves about 200 km of paddling (2 x 100 each way) and a total of about 10 portages (2 x 5 each way). GO TO READ MORE.

Dragon Boating on the Red River

Dragon Boating on the Red River.  Try something new or experience it all over again! Paddles and PFD’s supplied. Start/end at Canoe/Kayak Club, 80 Churchill Drive. Cost about $100.00 for equipment rental, split between # of participants. Dragon boat can accommodate 20 paddlers.

Art Ride (Cycle) in Winnipeg

Art Ride (Cycle) in Winnipeg – led by a member of the Winnipeg Art Council (WAC) and a member from Bike Winnipeg, at no charge. Cycle around the city to art pieces commissioned by the WAC. There are a few routes (from downtown to St. Vital or just in downtown area), stopping at some of their public art. The WAC member talks about the art work, why it was commissioned, who the artists are, etc.
