Nature Manitoba Outings

Nature Manitoba conducts a variety of outdoor activities throughout the year. Our activities include canoeing, hiking, cycling, snowshoeing, camping, cross-country skiing, and other outdoor recreational pursuits. All Outdoor Activities are free for members, with the exception of any cabin/park fees if applicable, and the Grey Hares group is listed separately. Non-members may attend a trip or two at no cost, in order explore the option of membership. Note that a trip's difficulty is rated using the following Trip Rating Guidelines.

Monday Evening Rides

Join Lesly Andrews for Monday evening bike rides starting at the Perimeter and Roblin Blvd to The Whitehorse at Saint Francois Xavier This is an out and back so speed is not a concern we will pick up all stragglers on our return.

South end of Mantario Trail in direction of Caribou Lake

Please join Roger on hike on rocky south end of Mantario trail in Whiteshell Provincial Park . There are ups and downs on this trail. The hike will go in direction of Caribou Lake and with group we will see how far we want to go . Hike will be followed by a potluck. We will meet at 9 am at McDonalds parking lot at Fermor and Lakewood ( Southdale). Carpooling will be arranged .

Elma – Seven Sisters

Peter Taylor will lead this outing, which was highly successful in 2015 and 2016, with sightings of numerous Bald Eagles, two Golden Eagles, Sandhill Cranes and more. Scoters are possible.

Lake Winnipeg Beaches

Late fall is a good time to look for lingering waterfowl, raptors and gulls along the beaches of S.E. Lake Winnipeg. Winter passerines, such as Snow Buntings and redpolls, should also be present.

Winnipeg Christmas Bird Count
