Paul Watts is the Scientific Director, Institute of Arctic Ecophysiology at Churchill. Paul also maintains several other positions. All of which have some connection to the northern environment. He has a special professional interest in the ecology of northern mammals.
Paul anchors himself in Churchill, retaining very strong connections to both the University of Manitoba and Lakehead University. Over more than seventeen years, he has developed academic courses, established community-based research, nurtured circumpolar cooperation and played a special role in integrating regional economics and the environment. He has recently addressed the need for environmental assessment for Conowapa and, from a regional perspective, added much to the study of a national park in the northern part of Manitoba.
