The perfect way to learn about birds and birding! If you are interested in learning the basics of birding but don't know where to start or you need help identifying birds, this series of outings is for you. The outings take place every Tuesday evening from April 30th to May 28th and always start at 6:30 p.m. These outings will be led by Ward Christianson and Marlene Waldron, and possibly other knowledgeable birders. Due to overwhelming numbers for these events registration is now required on Eventbrite. Members will be free to register and a $5.00 fee will apply to non-members (per event ticket). Note there is a limited number of tickets available.

Registration will open up to members each Wednesday prior to the event each week and the general public on the Saturday prior to the event each week.  See individual activities for additonal information.

Route: St Vital Duck Pond to Sage Creek to Normand Park to St Vital Duck Pond.

Ride Duration: 2.5 hours.

Distance: 30 km.

Pace: 20 km/hr

Bring: Helmet, sunscreen, water, and your name tag.

Location: Oak Hammock Marsh is located 20 kilometers north of Winnipeg between Stonewall and Selkirk.

Time: 10:00 AM.

Description: Oak Hammock Marsh
Birding:
A leisurely stroll around the cells of the marsh with binoculars to observe returning birds and water fowl. There will be be groups of 12 or less led by experienced birders.
Hiking:
Slower paced and faster paced walking groups around the cells of the marsh for the other participants.
Trails map

Lunch: The cafe in the Wetland Discovery Centre is under construction. You can bring a lunch and eat at one of the picnic tables outdoors, or you can eat in Stonewall.
