Honorary Life Membership 1987
Edith joined the MNS in 1971. She was General Secretary of the Board of Directors (1974-79); Executive Vice-President (1981-82); and President (1982-83). In 1980 she chaired the Canadian Nature Federation conference in Winnipeg and has served on the board of the Saskatchewan Natural History Society. She is currently president of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Organization.
Her leadership on the Board and Executive was instrumental in obtaining the first government grant which allowed the Society to employ a full-time secretary, increase the remuneration for the office coordinator and pay part of the Bulletin costs. Edith was responsible for establishing a policy manual and formalizing the committees’ terms of references.
