Gerry Malaher is a keen observer and photographer of natural history. Few men know Manitoba better than he. He became thoroughly acquainted with the North during his tenure as Supervisor of Game and Fish in Northern Manitoba, and has been a sympathetic spokesman for the North ever since. He served as Director of Wildlife in Manitoba for over twenty years. Since his retirement, he has been a knowledgeable and outspoken conservationist, actively involved in many nature-oriented organizations. He is the new Honorary President of the Manitoba Naturalists Society.
