Jean Scriven

Service Award recipient 1997

In recognition of her many years of effort in helping the Society meet its objectives, Jean Scriven has been given a Service Award.

Jean joined the MNS in 1976. She volunteered for several years in helping the, then fledging, Fort Whyte Nature Centre get started. She was also one of the founders of the Manitoba Wildlife Rehabilitation Organization, again volunteering much of her time in taking care of injured birds. Several times, birds were taken home where they were nurtured along and eventually released into the wild. Some where even kept in one of her bathtubs until released.

Time is dedication! Jean is one of those persons who over the years has quietly contributed her time, money and efforts, without thought of remuneration, in her genuine concern for our wildlife.
