Service Award Recipient 1996
In recognition of her efforts in the position as Action Vice-President, Letty Last has been awarded this Service Award.
Letty joined the MNS in 1980 and assumed responsibilities of Action Vice-President in 1993, lending great strength to the monthly Board proceedings. One of her first endeavors was to initiate a highly successful fundraising committee which organized several money-generating ventures. These included sponsorship to the Annual Bird Search and the commencement of fall garage sales. Letty accepted the onerous responsibility of organizing the 1996 Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Nature Federation to be held in Winnipeg this August. Appreciating that the MNS could be held liable for injuries arising from gross negligence during MNS sponsored outings, Letty researched the subject thoroughly and came up with an appropriate waiver to be given to all participants of organized outings.
Letty is a “can-do” person who thoroughly analyses agenda topics before proceeding with the next item. All who know her appreciate her attention to detail and her dedication to her responsibilities.
The MNS is pleased to present Letty with this Service Award.
