Linda Fairfield

Service Award recipient 1992

Linda and her family have been members since 1979. As an enthusiastic supporter of natural history in this province, Linda has travelled from the Pembina Valley to Churchill to paint Manitoba’s wild flowers. Her illustrations and paintings are published in “Harvesting the Northern Wild” by Marilyn Walker, and “Wildflowers of Churchill and the Hudson Bay Region” by Karen Johnson.

Linda’s fine pen and ink drawings have accompanied Karen Johnson’s Rare Plant alert columns in the Bulletin for over ten years. Besides contributing to the Bulletin, Linda has also been an exhibitor in the Society’s annual Wildlife Art Auction. Her drawing of the Prairie White Fringed Orchid is featured on the new Prairie Patron Certificate. When the MNS moved into its present office space, Linda kindly offered her design expertise and designed a floor plan for the new office.
