In the spring and fall, volunteers make weekend working trip to the Mantario Wilderness Cabin
It takes a day of paddling with 6 portages to reach the cabin.
The volunteers work hard over these weekends so all can enjoy the cabin.
Collecting wood is a big job.
Volunteers help make sure there is plenty of wood year-round.
The cabin, sauna, and a few smaller structures need yearly maintenance.
Laundry must be done by hand.
And hung out to dry.
Volunteers make sure there is food stocked at the cabin, and they also get to treat themselves to some nice meals.
Volunteers can enjoy the wood-fired sauna and all the amenities of the area.
Nature Manitoba is fortunate to have some fantastic volunteers.
Socializing and meeting new people is one more benefit for our hard-working volunteers.
See our volunteer page to learn more.
