Marlene Waldron

Service Award recipient 1997

In recognition of her many years of effort in helping the Society meet its objectives, Marlene Waldron has been given a Service Award.

Since she joined the MNS in 1992, Marlene served a 3 year term on the Board, assisted with the running of the MNS garage sale, helped lead skiing and birding outings and participated in the local Neotropical Birding Group in rating birds in terms of rarity in the province.

Using the new Forest Ecosystem Classification for Manitoba, she also assisted in placing the province’s forest birds into one or more of the 33 classifications. Marlene has also been an active and frequent volunteer in many of the Society’s functions, such as hosting the Canadian Nature Federation and the Indoor Program.
