Service Award recipient 1998
Since joining the MNS in 1994, Nancy has taken an active interest in the Society and its many programs. In her role as Programs Vice-President, Nancy has put her heart and soul into the position. In her passion for wanting the MNS to be seen in the best light, Nancy is constantly thinking of new ways to promote and show off the Society.
Nancy was one of the most active members on the MNS Executive. In addition to providing committee support when required, she took on fundraising initiatives such as selling bird seed at the December Members Night and spearheading our first Elderhostel last year. She is an outstanding organizer and the excellence of the Indoor Program for the past two years can be attributed to her exceptional skills and capacity for co-ordinating every aspect of the programs.
Nancy’s enthusiasm for the Society, the out-of-doors and natural history make her a valuable member indeed and an excellent “ambassador” for the MNS.
President’s Award recipient 1997
As our Programs Vice-President this year, Nancy has shown herself to be an outstanding diplomat and organizer. A newcomer to the Board last year, Nancy took up the reins immediately, involving herself in Society activities. The Indoor Program is one of the programs that binds this Society together and the role of organizing it is not a small task. Everything from the speakers to the gifts to the coffee and doughnuts were taken care of by Nancy and her crew. I look forward to working with her again next year.
