Hello, my name is Simone Faucher and I am working together with Christa as Discovery Evening Coordinators. I love to learn and have found I learn best when working with others. I am passionate about science communication and environmental education at all ages, which I think makes me a perfect fit for this position!
In May 2021, I graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Environmental Science and previously in 2018, a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy. I enjoy blending the multiple perspectives and goals of each field in my home life and as a professional. I was fortunate as a student to work with a variety of organizations, including the UM Plant Science Department, Dupont Pioneer, IISD-Experimental Lakes Area, the National Centre for Livestock and the Environment, Water Survey of Canada, and more! Currently, I work with the Province as a biologist and look forward to a diverse career ahead of me.
In my personal time, I am an avid gardener and amateur birder. I also enjoy cooking, hiking, camping, kayaking, horseback riding, and relaxing with my two cats, Harley and Davie.
Hope to see you all soon at our first Discovery Evening on October 24th!
