Hawk Watching

Raptors and a host of other birds migrate north along the Red River and Pembina River valleys in early spring. Come join the birders who monitor this migration. They will be present from mid-morning at either site on most days from mid-March to mid-April, especially when it is sunny with a south wind. As the St. Adolphe bridge on PR.

Mid-March to Mid-April -- During this time, birders will be out at the St. Adolphe and Windygates hawk watch sites, weather permitting. Days with light winds, especially from the south, and sunny skies are best, but birds also migrate in less-than-ideal weather.

An Evening Of Chimney Gazing

Chimney Swift Viewing

At St. Adolphe there are five active chimneys in the area and an artificial nesting tower. There should be lots of activity as swifts search for insects and drop into nests in the area.   Meet at 8:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Catholic church. Rate date will be June 10.
