Rose Kuzina (register at rosek1066@mymts.net starting on June 18). Nature Manitoba's COVID-19 protocols (effective 2022-Mar-01): Here.
Take a stroll (because there will be interpretation and discussion about what is growing) down this 1.3 km (one-way) boardwalk through this ecologically protected biosphere that is under imminent threat due to the rural municipality and provincial government planning to allow a new quarry development (which the Gull Lake residents and others are livid about and have tried to take action against this - has to do with the water sources being compromised). This 1240 hectare protected area is home to 28 species of native orchids, 10 species of carnivorous plants, and 23 other rare plants. This spring season could present us with the showy lady's-slipper, two species of yellow lady's-slippers, ram's-head lady's-slipper, spotted coralroot, a rein-orchid, pitcher plants, Labrador tea, dragon's-mouth orchid, bishop's cap, who knows what else? You would be remiss to not bring a camera.
More details will be provided when you register. Participants must be fully Covid vaccinated and be prepared to wear face-masks.
